Tanzania is embarking on an energy transition journey that aims to scale up renewable energy deployment as a means to drive sustainable development and expand energy access. This report outlines the approach for delivering a comprehensive gap analysis of Tanzania’s energy policy and regulatory landscape. The primary objective of this assignment is to assess Tanzania’s current energy policy, legal and regulatory framework and identify gaps and barriers that hinder accelerated deployment of renewable energy. The analysis is intended to inform civil society advocacy for progressive policy and regulatory reforms.
